 > The Aaron Burr commercial was great. Ah, the one thing Michael Bay ever did that everyone can love.

everything that Ken Munson said in the Rushmore section was the most UTTER BULLSHIT. WHAT?!?!? I mean really, is this Ken's version of sarcasm, where he says really mindblowingly stupid things to be funny?? I mean, I'd copy and paste an example of something he said but, it's just that EVERYTHING he said in the rushmore section was so frustratingly twisted. so what's your favorite movie ken? the matrix?

So... you DISAGREE that this was Bill Murray's best performance? A Stripes person, I take it.

How quickly we forget Garfield: The Movie.

i kinda saw the swing movement as an unfashionable (and lets face it, awful) extension of the lounge revival, which started a few years earlier with the rise of stereolab's exotica elements, esquivel resurfacing, and of course combustible edison. i used to dance every thursday for a couple years at one of my locals.. that [christchurch] scene had a real community vibe to it..

So when Ken said there was something about Anderson's directing style that he couldn't quite identify that he didn't like, he was what? Lying?

Yeah, it does seem like an extreme reaction against my somewhat reserved love for a movie. Okay, everyone, if anything I say makes anyone mad, it was probably actually Brad Shoup who said it.

I never thought it was fair to lump Squirrel Nut Zippers in with the rest of the neo-swing bowel movement--they were just so authentic and, well, good. That and they were more in line with jump blues, parlor music and Euro-jazz like Django than big-band swing. It was really a matter of timing. "Hell" became a hit right as neo-swing was blowing up and the band got dragged into it, even though they really had no place there. Listen to "Bad Businessman" or "the Flight of the Passing Fancy." There's just no comparison between these guys and all of the other utter bullshit that they're unfortunately associated with in hindsight. Plus, they introduced us to Andrew Bird and that's reason enough to love them.

ok, i'm sorry. I hate to be apologetic and whatever but i clearly over reacted. I agree it was Bill Murray's best performance, (that I've seen). What do you mean am I a Stripes person?? Are you trying to say that you like the Strokes and I only like the White Stripes? B/c to be honest, I actually like the strokes and don't really know much about the white stripes. I'm sorry I made uncalled for comments to you concerning the Matrix, which is really not that bad but a little too self-consciously serious for my tastes these days. I really like your website. ps. Armageddon is great. One of the funniest movies I've seen recently.

What a coincidence! Did you know that there's also a Bill Murray comedic vehicle called Stripes? Crazy, huh?
