| | I never thought it was fair to lump Squirrel Nut Zippers in with the rest of the neo-swing bowel movement--they were just so authentic and, well, good. That and they were more in line with jump blues, parlor music and Euro-jazz like Django than big-band swing. It was really a matter of timing. "Hell" became a hit right as neo-swing was blowing up and the band got dragged into it, even though they really had no place there. Listen to "Bad Businessman" or "the Flight of the Passing Fancy." There's just no comparison between these guys and all of the other utter bullshit that they're unfortunately associated with in hindsight. Plus, they introduced us to Andrew Bird and that's reason enough to love them. |

| | ok, i'm sorry. I hate to be apologetic and whatever but i clearly over reacted. I agree it was Bill Murray's best performance, (that I've seen). What do you mean am I a Stripes person?? Are you trying to say that you like the Strokes and I only like the White Stripes? B/c to be honest, I actually like the strokes and don't really know much about the white stripes. I'm sorry I made uncalled for comments to you concerning the Matrix, which is really not that bad but a little too self-consciously serious for my tastes these days. I really like your website.
