Clem - who's looking good for the AFL this year? (go demons).

You know, I enjoyed this article. But, maybe this is only because of contentment in understanding much of the content, after having to disregard many other Stylus articles due to their antipodean slant. So, this is merely support for the local voice. C'mon Aussie. Keep 'em coming.

aaron, I am required of course to say The Pies due to membership commitments, though now that The Didak is looking shaky I'm not so sure... I did send Todd a packet of Collingwood related photos for this Top Ten's banner, he must have twigged to my evil plan ;)

I have no idea what twigging is. all i remember about the pies is the spikey-hair bart simpson lookalike who got caught for DUI last year. that was cool.

Dude, how can Hoodoo Gurus' "That's My Scene"/"That's My Team" not be on this list?

fraew001, would you believe in my sports viewing career I've probably heard Acca Dacca about two or three times? and n.killa... rugby and I are like chalk and cheese. I'm an AFL junkie. Though I see your point - it slipped my mind - I kinda considered 'That's My Team' to be in the same category as Timmy Rogers cricket song and, being written/re-written for the cause, slightly outside my selection criteria.

rugby would have necessitated some tina.

10 points to the person who names the song Sports Tonight used before Audioslave...

clem -- i'm from new zealand. over here they're all rugby mad. i hate rugby, but have been known to enjoy the ole game of league (used to support manly back in the graham lowe days).

Ahh... All I really know about rugby is that my Mum thinks the players "just slide along on their tummies because it's fun!" Yep, she may be doing a PhD, but not on rugby!!

I loved this article. Clem, your eyes and ears are sharp to the kitschy cliches of popular culture. I know that the one day cricket players get to choose their own song when they go out to bat. The notoriously naughty English spin bowler Phil Tufnel used to stride out to Oasis' "Cigarettes and Alcohol." Unbelievably, Aussie's players are pretty straight compared to other international teams.
