Right then... The thing about Dogs Die In Hot Cars is that they have got some very nice melodies and stuff, but I can't stand the man's voice, or, indeed, his lyrics. He sounds like Richard Stilgoe. It's a littel bugbear of mine, people that take half-arsed potshots at popular culture in the Radio 4 comedy half-hour style. 'Dead Ringers' being the height of UK satire these days because Jon Culshaw has noticed that George W. Bush is a bit thick. Fuck that. DDIHC... there is just something that really isn't very enjoyable about them. This record sounds shallow, somehow, sounds like it has been made by people who appear to justify themselves using your logic, that they've made the effort to sing etc. so what they're doing must be good. Not really, chuck. This album should be an inventive, surprising joy, and it just sounds laboured. 'Somewhat Off The Way' IS a dirge. The lyrics throughout this record are, quite frankly, crap. I did listen to them. I just wished I hadn't. The reason why I'm so disappointed, is because this was my first reaction to Dogs Die In Hot Cars: https://stylusmagazines.com/feature.php?ID=969 And this album just does not live up to that first thrill of hearing 'Godhopping' whatsoever. So yeah, sorry to have upset you to such an extent (the review itself really isn't terribly well written, I know, and the closing paragraph... uck...), but Dogs Die In Hot Cars just seem like a bunch of talented musicians and absolutely nothing more. P.S. Ronan Keating can sing better than I can, and I'm certainly not bloody jealous of him.

If I have to listen to Feist during my next stay-at-home let's-make-dinner date, I'm giving up and eating only candy from now on while I listen to--oh, who cares--anything but Feist. Sh-boom-boom right on out the door, lady.

"smorg" is one of the most stomach-turningly awful shortenings I've ever seen.

Congratulations on posting a comment over a year before the feature was written WBS. I think Stylus fucked up here.

Haha. I've totally done the XTRMNTR/Red Bull thing... That album does have a way of pepping you up, much like a Red Bull. And now onto The Go! Team... I think we actually have some Lucky Charms in the house...... Excellent.
