Aww, every track but "Lounge Act" -- my favorite off an album full of amazing songs -- gets a mention? It seems I'm the only person who even remembers that amazing opening bassline, much less appreciates it.

Yes, Lounge Act is a great song. My favorite after On A Plain.

No discussion of Nevermind is complete without "Drain You." Therefore, this album review is incomplete. How can you not talk about the 2 best songs on the album? Puzzling.

And Local H kicks more ass then just about any band of the 90s (they're top 10 for sure). So there.

i have to mention that "even in his youth" is a great b-side to teen spirit.

It's hard to find fault with the songs on Nevermind but as an album I feel like it just never really catches fire. In Utero rips it to shreds and even Bleach has more personality. Of all the Nirvana CDs I probably pull out Nevermind least frequently.

The right lyrics to the song are: just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT after you

I like how the review ends in a question. Any other review and I would complain, but since Kurt himself raised so many questions before and after his death, it seems appropriate. In fact, this whole review was well done. I recall thinking a lot of those things myself when indie went back underground as quickly as it had "appeared" in the mainstream...

I liked "Been a Son". CONFIDENTIAL TO FOOLSGOLD13: I'm a buffoon. Thanks for the correction.

"Of all the Nirvana CDs I probably pull out Nevermind least frequently." Agreed.

It's funny that Brad contrasts Nirvana with bands like Guns 'n' Roses. At my school it was actually the hair-metal jock kids who liked Nirvana first, which explains why I took ages for me to give them any time. We didn't have a lot of punks on the Gold Coast.

I still hold that, no matter what you think of Nirvana, they are an absolutley an important stepping stone to discovering indie music. My musical chain (beginning about 4 years ago, in my sophomore year of high school) goes like this: Zeppelin->Nirvana->Fugazi->Pixies->Pavement, etc, etc, etc. I'm not sure if that holds true for others, but I know that's certainly what happened with me. I think they're still a great band, and even though I don't listen to them much anymore they're dire as to my current musical tastes.
