| Public Image Ltd. was one of the finest bands of all time. \"Fodderstompf\" reminds me of what Flipper did later in the 1980\'s--massive bass sound, simple rhythmic pulse, and a seemingly-silly vocal that became a powerful mantra by the end of the song. Excellent choice for this column. Early PiL could be scary stuff--later tracks like \"Francis Massacre\", \"Under the House\", and \"Swan Lake\" came out of this early slice of menace. | |
