I went here and played this CD and then went into my bedroom and played his first album. They were incomparable. At Josh`s house we played the newest glamrock revival album and then went into town where we could hear it being played in 6 of the shops we entered. I went home. I abluted. My CD player got stuck on a scratch. I let it play like that for 3 hours. I went somewhere else and played something else. My girlfriend came over. She yawned when I mentioned the album. Her eyes closed. I could hear the neigbours playing some dancey kind of thing 3 floors away. The bass thud dreamed into my apartment like a Tresor remix. I walked around the block for three years with my walkmen on. I didnt even notice when the batteries ran dry. A car hooted at me. I could hear something. Something else caught my frazzled attention. I talked about this to my girlfriend. She was still asleep. The garbage got thrown out. I went into the kitchen. I went into the bathroom. My girlfriend came and went. It was Monday past Thursday at Sunday night. Then it was Wednesday morning. Time for a new CD. I pawned my whole collection off. It wasn`t even half past one. My thoughts never cease to amaze. me.

Glen Campbell – Wichita Lineman Jimmy Webb saw a lonesome workman atop a telephone poll on the Kansas/Oklahoma border. Stop. The memory became one of the most lovelorn moments in pop. Stop. Glen hauled Jimmy’s Hammond organ into the studio to recreate the demo because it was perfect. Stop. Those notes trilling like a telegram down the telephone lines. Stop. A long distance love letter. Stop. “And if it snows that stretch down south wont ever stand the strain”. Stop. Those strings! Stop. That voice! Stop. The dislocated rubber band guitar. Stop. The drums to fade. Stop. Perfect. Stop.
