| Hmm... I just thought the movie was boring. It was never scary and the violence didn't shock me the way I expected after reading so many comments from others. As you said, Mr. Mashate, it is definitely "technically competant," but it commits the ultimate sin of being dull, despite piles of severed limbs and screaming mutant folk. |

| I don’t think I’d disagree with you: The story is a bit banal; but that being said, I’ve never really been moved by the narrative of a horror film. A movie like The Grudge sacred the shit out of me while still remaining exceedingly dull. A movie like Hills was in an over-determined box, nothing much could really happen save The Inevitable. In this way it was dull. Oh the constraints of “Genre”!
(And I appreciate the comments from both of you. Thanks!)

| Man, Mashate. You are getting shafted in these reviews. It has to be tough to review both Date Movie and The Pink Panther in a row. The Hills Have Eyes wasn't so bad, but they should really start giving better movies to review. I like your style. |
