Man, why do they always have to ruin such great books?

So you're saying that the movie was bad because it was too cliche of an Academy Award nominated movie?

Good review. I really cannot stand Sean P's acting style. He's like a turd chewing a wasp. It's a pity that this seems such an exploded pumpkin as Zaillian's previous two films have been outstanding. I guess this is his big move into the mainstream. I think i'll chekc it out anyway. Perhaps Warren Beatty should have directed it.

Your review of this movie reminds me of what I thought of this book, i.e. that it relied heavily on grandstanding, drawn-out melodrama, and blunt artless truisms. It was written like an oscar movie is filmed: so aware of its epic greatness that by the end, any moral impact is overshadowed by its own sense of acomplishment.
