It's an okay tune, but I'm surprised you thought it worthy of writing an article about.. Would've described it as one of the more forgettable JD moments. It sounds a bit like a mishmash of the ideas from They Walked In Line and Ice Age.

I found 'Still' at a used shop not two weeks ago (and the copy smells like cigarettes), and I love it. I haven't given due attention to this tune, instead focusing on 'Ice Age' and 'Glass' and the live stuff at the end. Sucks, though, that iTunes won't read the CD. I do my best listening in front of my computer.

heya, Ian. Thank you for your 'Seconds'-piece. I stumbled upon it by accident, but I really like liked it (already reading other entries, to be honest). Regarding the music, I can still remember when i first pulled 'Unknown Pleasures' out one of the wooden Rock-section containers of our local, public library. That happened a little more than 15 years ago in Europe, go figure. One thing that struck me about your piece was the fact that you kind of dismissed the punk/Warsaw/Stiff Kitten-part. Over the years I collected quite a bit of New Wave/Factory/New Wave-stuff, to be honest quite a little bit of everything, except dutch gabber-house maybe *grin*. I have to say quite a few Warsaw-bits and pieces survived the name-change. And again you have that continuous, low frequency charged current running in quite a fair share of their early work. On a personal level, I find myself returning to Joy Division now and then. Happened to me the other day, after listening to the last xiuxiu-CD (I am not a retro-freak). Everybody has his own perception/interpretation, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion this is not depressing music as such. OK, listen to 'closer' 50 times on end, and maybe you should get your head checked. But that theory flies for a lot of bands. Damn, even my xiuxiu-CD ... Never mind... No, I kind of consider Joy Division being my reset button. Helps me put things in perspective. My personal Ctrl-Alt-Del, if you will. Back to basics. There can be beauty in anger/fear/guilt/depression. Considering the length of this thing, I'd better call this 'Thirds', I guess. Thanks again for your piece, though. Looking forward to more. -kokura-
