| I remember when this came out and it was viewed as a serious return to stripped-down balladeering . . . man, the things we thought were stripped down in the '80s. Still like the album, though. | |

| the only reason this album isn't as revered as Nebraska, or really spoken in the same terms is coz of the horrible 80s production on half the tracks. i wish i could see (hear?) through them, but it totally turned me off the LP - yeah, it IS amazing the things we thought were stripped down in the '80s. | |
