True story re: Harold being a dirty old man - he was taking a studio tour out at Nunawading, when some wiseguy piped up, "hey Harold, how come you're so fat?" To which Harold replied, "because every time I rooted ya mum she gave me a biscuit". Apparently he has a raging coke habit, too.

Thankfully, as I have no indie cred to lose by saying this, "Not Me Not I" is a very good song. The rest of her output can go to hell, along with Gary Barlow who I think is to blame for some of it, but NMNI is beyond great.

Well after finally beating Hodgkin's disease and coming face to face with her own mortality, I wonder if you were hopeing for a album with a darker tone ? altough I can't imagine her songs being nearly as frivolous or as pointless as this review.

Ahh, I thought this might crop up. I'm aware of her health problems and, despite clearly being a heartless monster, was pleased to recently read that she has recovered and is returning to Neighbours. However, that has nothing whatsoever to do with this album, nor my review--which I'm sorry you didn't like.

You say her health had nothing to do with your review, fair enough but her music had nothing to do with your review either. It was a 'humorous' stab at slating a mainstream pop album that 99% of people reading this site have no intention of buying. Okay your a funny guy, we get it. I bet Bill hicks wished he had done a spot about trashing Neighbours, it's not as if they are an easy target being the intellectual tour de force that it is.

I actually rather enjoy the bizarreness of Neighbours; that was partly why I decided to give this a listen. You're right though, I should have included more cutting social commentary. Or something.

Er.. I think the order of these comments got lost somewhere.

I agree with the previous comment. This is just like when Pitchfork reviewed that 2-CD ABBA greatest hits and gave it a 5. This album is now 12 months old, and was written before she found out she had Hodgkin's disease. Why bring it up now? Basically, nobody reading this is on the fence about that album, why bother? She's not that offensive, she makes well-crafted but not that thrilling pop music for people who like to think they're a cut above Britney Spears fans. She's hurting nobody, she has talent and is doing well. Good luck to her.

Aargh. What's with the ordering on these comments?
