	Any thoughts as to whether this solidifies his place in the Nick Drake-Jeff Buckley canon? Will anyone be shocked when we hear his music soundtracking various movies and commericials in 15 years' time? At least then, when the revival officially begins, I'll be able to say to all the snot-nosed music snobs (ie: younger versions of me) "yeah, whatever... I was into him before you were born." I've been waiting a long time to be able to say that, so I'll have no trouble waiting a bit longer.

	I LOVE Elliott Smith (his music got me through high school) but I dunno if this record will put Smith in Nick Drake/Jeff Buckley territory. Either/Or, XO & Figure 8 definitely will, but not this one. To me, it felt like 'half an album.' I would love to hear all the aborted/botched songs/fragments (which may mean about 5 or 10 versions of "Fond Farewell" but that's OK with me) in some deluxe edition.

	I'm a big Smith fan, but there is absolutely no way this album catapults his status in the musical world. This album is by far his worst. Despite being 15 songs long there are about two decent songs and not a single knockout like "Between the Bars." I really thought this album was gonna be good, but it's not. I think reviewers are scared to pan it because of his death and all. If you want to like something bad enough, there's a good chance you'll like it whether it's any good or not. I wanted to like this album, but I can't. That doesn't say much for its musical merit.
