| Am I the only one who felt like this was the most middling parts of DCW blown into a full album? I mean, I was gunning for a fullscale expansion of the whole Your Cover's Blown disco thing. Me sad. |

| I would love to know what the other 4 "finest Belle & Sebastian tracks to date" are, and what makes Sukie in the Graveyard even among the five finest songs on this album. If you're measuring its status on its pop sensibilities, I think you may have overlooked For the Price of a Cup of Tea; if it's the story you're after, Dress Up in You does it better. Even then, I can't say I'd defend a single track off The Life Pursuit as a candidate for Top 5 B&S; Songs. It's a strong album and I like the direction the band is taking, but let's not kid ourselves: I'm a Cuckoo is a classic that can stand up beside Sleep the Clock Around, The State I Am In, and Get Me Away From Here.... Nothing here sounds like it has that same durability. |

for that, I kiss you. |

| This album is so good. A shame it didn't get a A- or A. I'm not even that big of a B&S; fan, but this is pretty great. |
