Justin Broadrick makes really, really good records...this new Jesu EP is way different from last year's LP and equally slamming. Pretty, dour, mind-expanding, and immersive sounds matched up with the type of pop songs that gives pop a good name for once. I wish he'd bring Jesu to the US, but I can't blame anybody for not wanting to come to the US under the illegal Bush regime. I have not been able to stop listening to this disc since I got it.

Re: "Silver": Nice to see this reviewed finally (no pun intended), and given the high marks it deserves. "Jesu" made my top 10 last year -- ick, does that make me a hipster? -- and with "Silver" as strong as it is, as the reviewer notes, the second album should be searing. (And, with luck, a breakthrough of sorts for Broadrick in terms of his audience; after so many years and so much amazing music, he's entitled to it.)

I've been a fan of Jason's since Pure, in 1992. His vision has been consistent and compelling. Re-Entry, Final 3, and Bad Blood are just some of the standouts among his diverse dicography. One of the few artists I will buy the day his projeects come out. It's gratifying to see him getting recognition at long last.
