I have had a promo copy of this for a couple months now, and I must say, I really like it a lot. Yes, it is as good as Blue Cathedral. Possibly better.

"best big-dick band since 2001" - Did somebody {cough} forget {cough cough} that Drunk Horse was actually living in Oakland at the time? Cmon' man! Take a Bay Area refresher course or something for christ sakes. They probably offer one online at University of Phoenix. That said, I love Comets. Big Ups to the band for doing the album at Prairie Sun Studios. Good thing come to those who record in (renovated) chicken coops.

it's a gentler comets i understand and accept and will buy.. but are many reviewers are comparing it to "blue cathedral" because they consider that album their high water mark or are they comparing the two in terms of style? both? i like 'field recordings' best by a long way so i'm wondering if this will seem like a sort of ebbing.
