that first part sounds an awful lot like kurt vonnegut's "slapstick". quite an awful lot

Utica5 nails a tortured and stretched reference by Elliott here....but then, maybe Elliott is taking notes from Stephen "the Plagiarist" Ambrose on how to represent other people's ideas as your own. He still demonstrates more ethics in doing this than Nick Sylvester does by reappearing as a "journalist".

i don't want to sound like i'm just backing up a fellow staff member, but is the idea of twins who get separated at birth and somehow maintain a spiritual link really proprietary? i dunno, it's been years since i read slapstick. anyway, i think there's a huge difference between using an abstract, familiar metaphor and fabricating events, no?

Well, this Deerhunter release is better than Elliott's review of it, Vonnegut's novel, or Nick Sylvester. That is more the issue at hand.

Seriously, who gives a shit about Vonnegut or twins or whatever? Commenting about the album reviewed here would be far more interesting. It's trippy as fuck, and I like it, btw.

I give a shit about Vonnegut and so do some others here obviously. Anyone hating my man Vonne Jr. can go take a FLYING FUCK AT THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!! Slapstick is one of his lesser regarded books and it's pretty freaking good, so any chance to talk about it is a good one.
